Got questions about purchasing cannabis in Illinois? 

+ WHEN CAN I STOP IN?

Check out our Locations page for each location’s hours of operation. We also post updates on our social media pages. Most of our dispensaries open earlier because they are connected to West Town Bakery so we also have coffee, pastries, and breakfast items available to purchase.

+ I AM A US VETERAN and/or a MEDICAL PATIENT. DO YOU OFFER ANYTHING FOR ME?

• • 20% Discount for First Time Medical Patient followed by a 15% Discount on Subsequent Visits plus our Loyalty Program’s incentives
  • 20% Discount for US Military Veterans
  • 20% Discount on Mondays for Medical Patients on all items
  • 10% Discount for Supplemental Security Income, a 10% Senior Citizens Discount
  • Offers cannot be combined with other savings or Patient/Customer group savings unless otherwise noted. Due to our high volume of medical patients we  keep on hand products that many of our patients seek for relief. RSO’s, CBD/THC edibles, CBG/CBN edible options, Tinctures, Bath Salts, Pain Creams and Balms. For more immediate relief flower and cannabis concentrates and cartridges are a great option. Our building and kiosks are ADA accessible.

+ CAN I PAY VIA DEBIT CARD AND ORDER AHEAD PRIOT MY DISPENSARY VISIT?

You can pay via debit card by downloading CanPay to use as mobile payment to avoid cash transactions; utilizing online menus for pre-ordering and visiting us during less busy times to avoid larger crowds. You can pre-order through our website and we will usually have your order read and waiting for you when you arrive at OKAY Cannabis Dispensary.

+ ARE YOUR LOCATIONS FOR MEDICAL PATIENTS OR RECREATIONAL CUSTOMERS?

While all of our locations are open for recreational customers, we do not currently offer medical products to patients although we do provide a discount. Our recreational locations are happy to see medical patients and provide a discount if they want to purchase from the recreational menu, although all taxes will apply.

+ THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GOING TO OKAY DISPENSARY…WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

We have parking at most locations. Our Wheeling cannabis dispensary location has parking, including handicapped accessible spots. Our Evanston location will also offer parking.

• Feel free to ask any questions that come up. Really. Our knowledgeable dispensary associates can help you find exactly what you’re looking for. Not sure about that either? No problem.
• Browse at your own pace. We have kiosks with comfortable places to sit while you browse. Have a question? Great! We are happy to assist. Don’t want to be hassled and don’t want to purchase? No problem. We’ll be here when you are ready.
• WiFi + COFFEE+ PASTRIES + COCKTAILS. We have it! If there’s a wait to see your dispensary associate, know that you’ll have the internet and our cafes to keep you company. All of our dispensaries are located in our next to West Town Bakery. We serve Dark Matter Coffee, Rishi Teas, and we make all of our pastries. To get a head start on your order, you can browse our online menus. If there is a wait to get in, we do have a waitlist and we’ll text or page you in the bakery when it’s your turn to come in.
• I am a Fifty/50 Group Loyalty Rewards Member. Can I earn points & use my rewards at the dispensary?  Yep! You absolutely can. Not only do we have the first dispensary to offer a restaurant and bar to our guests, we also have the only loyalty rewards program that works in our bars, restaurants, and dispensaries.

+ WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR MY FIRST DISPENSARY TRIP?

• Valid Photo ID First, you’ll need an ID that shows proof of age. A driver’s license, state issued ID, passport, or military ID card all work. If your ID doesn’t show your address, then you’ll need to bring proof of that to access higher purchase limits set for Illinois residents.

• Below is a list of accepted IDs:
  • A valid driver’s license from any US state
  • A valid ID from any US state
  • A valid US Passport
  • A valid US Military ID
  • Any valid picture ID issued by a government entity within the US

• The following IDs are not Acceptable:
  • Expired driver’s license/ID from any US state
  • Any international passports
  • Green Cards
  • TVDLs Cards
  • FOID Cards
  • Any driver’s license/ID card from any US state with a hole punch

+ WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We now accept DEBIT in all our stores. You can also use CanPay for a safe, contact-less, mobile transaction. Of course, cash is always acceptable and we have ATMs onsite. Unfortunately, checks and credit cards are not allowed.

+ DO YOU DELIVER?

No dispensary can at this point, which is one of the reasons that we focus on an efficient and pleasurable experience at OKAY Cannabis Dispensaries.  To make things as efficient as possible, pre-order online for same day pickup.

+ HOW MUCH CANNABIS CAN I BUY?

If you’re an Illinois resident, you’ll be able to purchase more than out-of-towners.

• If you live here, you can purchase up to the below amounts in one business day:
  • 30 grams (1 oz) of plant material
  • edibles totaling no more than 500mg THC
  • 5 grams of concentrate products

• Non-Illinois residents can purchase half the amount, or up to:
  • 15 grams (1/2 oz) plant material
  • no more than 250mg THC in edibles
  • no more than 2.5 grams of concentrate product

+ WHAT ARE THE TAXES ON RECREATIONAL PURCHASES?

Taxes vary depending on the THC content in the products you purchase. On top of your local, state and business taxes, Illinois has the following purchaser taxes:

• 10% Tax on adult use cannabis products with 35% THC or less
• 25% Tax on adult use cannabis products with more than 35% THC
• 20% Tax on cannabis-infused products

+ ARE THERE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEDICAL AND RECREATIONAL CANNABIS?

When it comes to the product, no. All of it undergoes the same cultivation and testing processes. Recreational Cannabis products come in a wider range of varieties and strains.

+ CAN I SAY DOOBIE, MARY JANE, WEED, REEFER?

Yes.. There are no weed snobs here. While we appreciate the sanctity and benefits of cannabis, we also believe that it’s OKAY to have fun with cannabis. Giggle all you want, cannabis is meant to have fun with too.

+ WHEN WILL THE CONSUMPTION LOUNGE BE OPEN?

We should have a consumption lounge available in Wheeling later this year and we will have our second one available in Evanston. We will not allow guests to partake in cannabis usage if they have already visited the bar.

+ HOW LONG WILL THC REMAIN IN MY SYSTEM? I MAY HAVE TO TAKE A DRUG TEST FOR WORK.
